In the past few weeks, several friends have told me that their relationships or marriages are ending or have become increasingly challenging.

There have been a lot of upsets and moves in our lives, and I think it is affecting poor Murray. He has separation anxiety. We have been in our home for one month. Although I don’t have to work a lot outside the home and he is not alone for long periods, I do have to leave him at times.

I dreamed I had a little bug-bite scab on my leg. It started looking like a blackhead, so I squeezed it, and it popped out like a bug. When the head of it came out of my leg, I grabbed it with my thumb and index finger. I finished pulling it out and wiped it on the sidewalk.

Throughout history, spiritual practitioners have imbued objects with special powers and have sought healing from the physical world.

There is some movement toward glorified nostalgia in our current culture. We are encouraged to long for simpler times or when times were “better.” Maybe there was more civility. Maybe there was a greater sense of community. Maybe we didn’t share as much. Maybe we felt safer.
