Metaphysical awareness, or spiritual experience, is often difficult to explain or understand while living in a left-brain dominant society. Many times the phrase “woo-woo” is used as a slightly condescending term to describe these events and experiences.
Our awareness of time is something that defines us. When we are young, we can’t wait to be older. When we are old, we wish we were younger. When we are bored, time drags on and on. When we are excited, time flies by.
Each year LightSong, the school and community that I founded, puts on a Spirit Quest practicum. We have since changed locations, but for years the quest was held in Dufur, Oregon, a high desert area with ponderosa pine, dry brush, and harsh conditions. The land is arid and scenic.
“We are the holy angels of God. We will now give you the most powerful words to be given to any mortal. The words are sacred and waiting to be given to the world.” When these words come into your mind, you know they aren’t of your own origin!
Where did we get the idea that we are not enough? Where did we get the idea that we don’t count? Why do we cringe when someone acknowledges something special we did? What makes us not measure up? Who do we think is measuring is? Is it us or is them?
Earth itself is in ascension. We are in a process of change that portends the possibility of wonderful differences in the future. The earth is responding to the needs of humanity to connect in more meaningful ways with our highest aspirations for momentous change to our current condition.
So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is ... fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
