I recently visited the town of Sedona, Arizona, one of my favorite places and one in which I have extensive family ties. Regardless of your worldview, Sedona is a magical place that instills relaxation and renewal of spirit.

My hotel was surrounded by dozens of crystal shops with New Age sages offering healing modalities and more. In addition, Sedona has a great dining scene, providing options for a wide variety of food enthusiasts. During the day, hiking is all the rage, as are jeep tours into the stunning red rocks of the Mogollon Rim.

Although Sedona is a wonderful place to visit any time of year, October is mystical, when changing leaves of the Oak Creek Canyon bring a fiery glow of red, orange, yellow, and all the colors in between. Driving through the canyon after dark holds cherished memories of crisp, cedar-scented night air and frosted flora. I do not get to Sedona as often as I would like, and my heart and spirit are always calling me back to the land of red rocks and pink jeeps.
