Benevolent Outcomes
Benevolent Outcomes Tom T. Moore
Alice writes: Tom, I had an insight this morning. It’s one of those things that on the surface sounds so obvious. I saw that there are two sides to the requesting most benevolent outcomes (MBOs) process: asking for what you want and accepting what you get. I wondered if you’ve considered writing more about the acceptance piece of the equation.
Tom replies: That’s a good observation. I’ve said many times that MBOs work perfectly, even when they don’t appear to at the time. For new readers of this column, these requests are specifically for you and are to be said out loud, such as, “I request a most benevolent outcome for_____. Thank you!” You’ll read below about benevolent prayers (BPs) that are said for other people, animals, and many others.
As an example, let’s say that you request an MBO to get a particular job, but you don’t get it. You’re ready to throw the towel in on these requests, but then, six months later, you’re offered an even better job with great people to work with and a higher salary.
