Laura Writes: I put off swapping the new modem sent by my internet service provider for a long time, possible because I foresaw the headache ahead. I finally tried doing it last night, and the directions on my computer told me to log in. I was able to do that, but then they asked for an activation number and gave me options that were unavailable to me. For example, I couldn't use my email because my internet wasn't working, and I couldn't get the code texted to me because the phone number they had on file was my landline. You get the idea.
