From Tom: Our granddaughter is about to start kindergarten. The elementary school our daughter and her family live closest to is poorly rated, but in our city, they are allowed to get on a waiting list for other elementary schools.

They chose three, and their second choice is very close to our house. Dena and I hoped she would get that one, as we had visions of walking down to the school and walking her back to our house when our daughter was not available.
