Warm Weather Brings Local Produce

Warm Weather Brings Local Produce Robin Hinz

This time of year, my thoughts turn to warm weather, blooming flora, and the promise of local fruits and vegetables. Eating local produce and choosing organic when possible yields the best nutritional results. I recently made the switch to organic and am amazed by how much better apples taste.
Although purchasing organic food items can be costly, seeking out local produce makes the high price tag worth it. I knew organic was a healthier option and was pleasantly surprised that the variations in flavor and texture was a deciding factor to make the switch.
Once spring arrives, the Seattle neighborhoods play host to various farmer’s markets most days of the week. Granted, the choices are limited at the onset, but once in full swing, these markets are full of brightly colored organic fruits and vegetables, sustainable meat and fish, and fresh-baked goodies.
