Benevolent Outcomes

Benevolent Outcomes Tom T. Moore

Tom writes: On Monday evening, we had a severe storm warning for our area of North Texas. A large, broken line of thunderstorms formed to the west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and began moving in our direction. Parts of a high school and an elementary school in a small town to the west, Jacksboro, were destroyed by a tornado, so this was serious.

A rotating wall cloud (from which tornadoes are born) slowly made its way southwest of Fort Worth and then northwest, which was directly toward us in Plano. We watched it all the way for a number of miles as it grew closer and closer. Finally, the severe storm sirens began to blare here in Plano, and Dena, our son Todd, and I headed for our “safe room,” which is a bathroom in the interior of the first floor of our house. Todd had his laptop so that we could continue to watch one of the local stations that had interrupted all programming to cover the storms. We watched as they started calling out streets just southwest of us.
