Essences of Nature: Crossing the Line of Imagination into Our Vision for the New World
Essences of Nature: Crossing the Line of Imagination into Our Vision for the New World Mary Ann Altamarino Antenucci
I saw pure love. Not the romantic "I can't live without you" love but the "I'm so happy to be part of something bigger than myself" love. We in select parts of California had the experience of watching the space shuttle circling and greeting many of us. Viewing such a marvel felt personal and exuberant for each of us. We all felt such a sense of pride. We were wowed — and how often is anyone wowed these days?
As I watched my fellow revelers, I felt hopeful. Here we were, all different hearts and minds, coming together to celebrate a feat of imagination, engineering, and hope beyond hope. How many of us think about going to the Moon and then make it happen? Not many of us are rocket scientists, but we all have in ourselves the power to stretch and push beyond our personal envelopes to be more, to do more, and to make more.
As we cross the line of imagination into our vision for the new world, what will we want it to look like? What will we want it to be? How do we want it to be for us? If watching the space shuttle can inspire us in such a profound way, how can we translate that degree of awe and inspiration into furthering all hope and dreams? What can we incite to invite?
