Benevolent Outcomes: Better than Expected
From Tom: On Veterans’ Day, a local restaurant was offering all veterans a free lunch. My friend Frank (a Navy vet) and I (an Army vet) decided to go. Knowing it would be crowded, I requested an MBO for our drive to the restaurant and to be seated as soon as possible. The results were better than we could have expected.
We arrived at the restaurant and immediately found a parking spot behind the building. We quickly walked around to the front door, and there was no line outside. The hostess at the counter said we were getting one of the last two available tables, and it could seat six people. Our service was outstanding, as was the food. When we left, the waiting area was packed, and people were waiting along the wall at the entrance. We concluded that the timing was perfect: no wait, and a really nice lunch.
