Self-Fulfilling Prophecies
Self-Fulfilling Prophecies Inspired Guidance through Gillian MacBeth-Louthan
A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that becomes true due to the behavior of the believer. “Self-fulfilling” means that something is predicted or talked about to the point that it happens. Another definition of selffulfilling prophecy is that whatever someone predicts or expects to happen does happen, simply because they believe it will. In this new virtual world, self-fulfilling prophecies are just a tweet away from instant manifestation. We have all seen this come to life during the past few years.
An example of a self-fulfilling prophecy is a bank closing because of a rumor — perhaps started by a disgruntled employee — that it would close. This energy creates what is called a causal loop and has a life force. The rumor magnifies everything, people panic, they start withdrawing their money, and the bank runs out of money and is forced to close. We have seen this on the global level with everything from disease to toilet paper.
