The stars at the zenith during midday this month are Alkaid and Asterion. Alkaid is in the tail of the Great Bear, part of the handle of the Big Dipper. This star is the home of Brighu, one of the seven rishis or mind-born sons of Brahma. Brighu offers the wisdom of vision — both farsightedness and intuitive vision. His insights show us the value of ritual in our everyday lives. As a leader, he is sensitive to third-dimensional needs for formal or ritual behavior.
True leadership begins with the capacity to utilize ritual as part of everyday exchanges. The most satisfying conversations begin with an appropriate greeting. The first step of a ritual is preparing the space; the second involves entering the space. Communication is actually the third step in the process of communication. Bhrigu shows you, through your meditation, how to set the stage and enter a space more effectively.
By practicing the steps of ritual in your daily meditation, you absorb ritual patterns. Later, when a crisis develops, you will automatically understand what to do and how to do it. You will instinctively take a moment for each step, thereby avoiding the mistake of skipping something invaluable to the proper working out of the problem.
