“Still” does not mean “dead.” It does not mean to hold your breath that rigid, right? Even things that do not move or seem to have life, such as walls and so on, have palpable consciousness. If you are not very connected with Earth, you could think dirt is pretty still. Depending on your vantage point, you might look at something and think, “Hm, that is still, but it also has quite a lot of life.” Soil might be a good example of this.
