There’s No Place Like Home
There’s No Place Like Home Donna Taylor
As we stand at the midpoint of the year, we might wish to take a moment to reflect on all that has been and where we currently find ourselves. The astrology of July will give us the opportunity to do this. Although there are certain tensions — most noticeably the ongoing square between Saturn and Uranus — the celestial backdrop is a little quieter this month, and there is emphasis on the water signs as the Sun moves through Cancer and as Jupiter hovers at the beginning of Pisces. Here is our chance to consider what home means to us: Where do we feel most at home, both physically and spiritually?
Is it a place, a community, or a feeling? For many of us, the shifting energies bring up a lot of chaos, both inner and outer, and it can be difficult to feel at home when we are discordant or uncertain inside. So this month, we might need to nourish and nurture ourselves and those we care about, for we can be anywhere in the world, but if we are cared for and looked after, we feel more rooted and have a stronger sense of belonging. Therefore, this is a good time to pamper ourselves a little and perhaps revisit our childhood memories. For example, if our favorite treat was apple pie and ice cream, then we should get in the kitchen and start baking. If our favorite childhood memory was being in a special place in nature watching the ladybirds climbing up blades of grass, then we should find a spot that gives us that sense of warmth and peace. Maybe listening to a piece of music instantly takes us back to a happy place.
