January 1–7: The year begins with the potential for you to envisage a new life for yourself. What changes would you like to make? How would you like to see your future unfolding? Remember that you are the master of your destiny and you can create the kind of life you want. At this stage, though, you only need to plan and maybe begin the first stages of creating change. Mercury is backtracking through your future and career zones, so this isn’t a good time to take action or to begin new projects, but it’s certainly a good time to think, contemplate, revise, and renew your sense of mission. Meanwhile, Jupiter, in your zone of everyday life and service, encourages you to take on a bigger role and to move toward what gives your life meaning.

January 8–15: A transformative new moon at the top of your chart suggests powerful new beginnings and a beneficial change in your professional life and your direction. Perhaps a door will open or an opportunity may present itself. With Mercury backtracking through the same area, though, it might be difficult to make progress. Perhaps the timing isn’t quite right, so the best approach would be to take each day as it comes and allow the mystery to gradually unfold. Around the time of the new moon on January 10, consider writing down or creating a visual map of what you would like to see take place in your life. This way, you’ll imbue your desires with creative power and give them a greater chance of manifesting.
