Emotional Despair of Your Youth

Recently, you might have contemplated the many deaths that have occurred in your schools. These are not normal deaths due to illness and accident, which are hard enough on parents. These are children and youth who have gotten to a point at which their despair is so great that they feel the only way out of their internal turmoil is to die and perhaps take others with them in their attempt to share their despair with those they feel closest to, whether positive or negative. These are children and youth who have brought guns or other weapons to their schools in most cases, and through violent acts, they kill themselves and others in the vicinity, usually other youths they know.

This is clearly a delicate issue for you as humans, because it brings up all sorts of emotions; conflicts; and feelings of guilt, abandonment, shame, and loss. We want to help you in your struggle to comprehend this and in your feeling of helplessness. Some may find solace in our words, and others may not. We want only to relieve suffering as you think about these youth and their actions.
