Traditional Insights into Yoga Mally Paquette

In Western culture at this time on the planet, we are not taught to look within. Humans are distracted with their five senses and obsessed with material wealth. Most of us look outside ourselves for value and worth instead of asking the inner self for acknowledgement and acceptance. The path of becoming whole lies very much in the second chakra, which is located in the pelvic bowl. This sacred area of the body is the emotional warehouse for our experiences. It holds the vibration of how we perceive our place in the universe.

The second chakra relates to the color vermillion, a rich and vibrant orange. The lotus has six petals representing the sweetness of life. Areas affected by this vibrational frequency are the sex organs, kidneys, and bladder. The element is water and our balance of giving and receiving is determined from this sacral chamber. The relationship with our physical body and how we feel about our presentation to the world is determined by our inner worthiness of svadhisthana.
