Give Thanks for Your Flaws Donna Taylor
The month begins with a new moon in Aquarius, close to Saturn and squared by Uranus. At the same time, we have four planets — Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Pluto in Capricorn. February will carry a strong Saturnian vibe during which the pressure to follow protocol, abide by rules, do the “right thing,” and live within limits could be very pronounced. However, when we limit ourselves, we tend to limit our potential. So during the new moon on February 1, it might be wise to question whether the limitations in our lives — whether self-created or externally imposed — serve any real and meaningful purpose.
It is important to question whether staying safe is healthy or empowering, since often we only truly begin to live when we befriend death and take the occasional risk. When we shy away from death, we shy away from living. Saturn is the planet of death; it often operates symbolically in the chart by cutting away the deadwood, ending relationships and situations when they have served their purpose. Saturn’s presence in Aquarius — the sign governing humanity — is uncomfortable for society as a whole, which has been demonstrated by Saturn’s move into Aquarius in March 2020. Since then, we have collectively faced the threat of death every day.
