Celebrate the Rekindling of Spirit
The turn of the seasons this month coincides with a lunar eclipse that occurs just fifteen hours before the Sun reaches its darkest point and enters the sign of Capricorn. We frequently experience total lunar eclipses, but seldom does this happen on the same day as the winter solstice. This year, both luminaries will darken together.
It is not the darkness of the eclipses I want to dwell on, but rather the intensity of the spiritual rebirth that occurs with the relighting of the fire of spirit during this solstice season. Major religions around the world share holidays to mark the return of the Sun.
