Predictions

For this month, I first wrote about the need to reflect on what has gone before and to plan for the future. I scratched that entire thought process! What we need now is action that emerges from acceptance on every level of being. We have the experience, the skills, and the talents we need.

Venus remains retrograde until January 31 between 26°41´ and 13°34´ Capricorn. Its shadow period (the exact degree and minute Venus started its retrograde motion) continues until March 4, 2014. Our relationships are being seriously tested. Who do we love? What do we expect in a relationship?

Several prominent themes will move through the filaments of life in 2014. To find the predominant theme for 2014, we add 2 + 0 + 1 + 4 = 7. The number 7 can be a bit difficult to grapple with, as it is like holding a cloud in your hands.

February is a very unusual month, as there is no new moon (we had two last month). This lack of opportunity for new beginnings and fresh energies combined with a retrograde Mercury could make this month feel like a drag for some people.

Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday February 6 at 1:43pm until Friday, February 28 at 6:00am between 3?18ﾴ Pisces and 18?10ﾴ Aquarius. Its shadow period remains until March 20.

March kicks off with a new moon in Pisces, which is good news for people who want to expand their consciousnesses or manifest a healing of some sort. Since this Pisces new moon is aligned with Chiron and Neptune, there is a very strong emphasis on healing, compassion, and forgiveness.

Mars turns retrograde on March 1 at 8:24AM and remains so until May 20. Its shadow period (the time necessary for it to return to the exact position it started its retrograde movement in) lasts until July 21.

Two planets associated with fire signs change direction this month to signal a new phase of creative activity. Moving in a constructive spiritual direction is the name of the game for the entire year, and March ushers in two powerful astrological trends, complemented brilliantly by the tarot.
