Your Ever-Loving Pets

Muushu is a male Coton de Tuléar who was unusually high-strung and agitated. His owner called me to see whether I could help calm him down. When I first met Muushu at the door, he barked uncontrollably and ran around as if he were insane. It seemed as if he didn’t want me to come inside.

I found three pussycats — Sprite, Pixie, and Ginger — freezing and huddled by our back door in January. After much hesitation — as we would have to find a way to feed them vegetarian like us (and we did!) — we took them in.

My beloved cat Kody Kitty passed away the day after my birthday. He was twelve years old and always very active and playful. We shared a special bond, as I saved his life by adopting him from the county’s animal shelter on the day designated to put him to sleep.

I have a parrot named Crackers. Crackers is a good bird, very loving and gentle. I’ve had her for about two years.

I just absolutely love whales and have always felt them to be kindred spirits. I went to Maui last month. As I was kayaking, a whale spy-hopped very close to me, and I felt that it was trying to communicate with me.
